Create are partnered with an independently owned supplier of luxury uniforms. They manufacture bespoke uniforms and corporate clothing that people love to wear and that reflects the brands they work on. There client projects include hotels, airlines, beauty and retail uniforms for some of the UK’s top brands. They are currently recruiting for a Freelance 3D woven and tailoring Designer for both men and women.
Due the ever changing needs of the business and there client requirements they are keen to find a designer who can work remotely and who understands how to use a CLO 3D Cad system. Should the candidate be successful there is an opportunity for a permanent position.
The ideal candidate would be mid level, Someone who understands both creative as well as the technical side of the business
Reporting into and working alongside our Design Manager, you will support the Design Team and develop product at every stage of the product life cycle.
Developing design concepts through inspiration and research to create a seasonal and on brand aesthetic.
Having the ability to translate inspirational ideas into a commercial yet inspiring product.
Having strong market and trend awareness.
Working effectively to critical path deadlines.
Producing detailed tech-packs and liaising with factories confidently.
Having an excellent knowledge of garment construction, finishing, fabrics and fit.
Actioning lab dips, embroidery artworks and print strike-offs.
Participating in fit sessions.
Liaising with Production and technical team to ensure samples are ready for proto review and buy meetings.
Manage collection overviews and other administrative tasks to support the design process, these include:
Amending and updating cads and team range plans.
Keeping boards up-to date.
Organising samples before and after proto reviews.
Participating in range building.
Ideal candidate will have 3 -5 years’ experience designing Woven and Tailored garments and is confident using both a CLO 3D Cad system and Adobe Illustrator.
Good communicator written and verbal
Good technical knowledge of garment construction
An understanding of pattern making
Thorough understanding of fabrics
Organised and capable of multi tasking.
