Create have joined with a prestigious West London company who are looking for an experienced Production Coordinator to join their team specialising in accessories and footwear. Whilst following the company’s critical path, you will be responsible to ensure that products are always of the highest quality and that the required delivery dates and deadlines are always met. You will support the Director of PD and Production with projects related to the set up of production, compliance and sustainability processes.

The role:

  • Build and manage the procurement and production critical path from design freeze to production deliveries for all categories of accessories. Communicating this with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are adhered to and any risks/ challenges are identified and mitigated
  • Work with PD to build and maintain an up to date database of materials and suppliers
  • Own all raw materials prebooking with suppliers, production launching with vendors and track deliveries
  • Partner closely with Design and PD during the development of the collection to identify potential quality issues and start any raw material testing required
  • Coordinate the collection handover after design freeze and manage the action plan to approval of sealing samples and PPs
  • Manage left over raw materials and product stock
  • Launch production with factories
  • Manage existing supplier relationships and source new suppliers when needed, supporting the onboarding process
  • Support the Director of PD & Production in liaising with manufacturers to negotiate costs, quantities and timelines
  • Resolve production issues in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Logistics Team in establishing and maintaining effective shipping processes
  • Oversee the finished goods quality control
  • Maintain a clear view of supplier capacity and capability, developing contingency plans when required
  • Establish clear quality standards and acceptance rates and hold suppliers accountable
  • Assess supplier performance based on capability and quality and provide analyses to support supplier selection, reviewing seasonally
  • Visit vendors and suppliers
  • Prepare and analyse weekly reports to identify any delivery issues and keep cross-functional teams updated
  • Support with building and management of the production budget ensuring the collection is delivered within forecast, tracking production related invoices and liaising with finance for on time payment

The Candidate:

  • Technical capability and product knowledge in luxury leather goods and accessories
  • Experience in shoes is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of planning and execution of samples through production and final delivery to the client
  • In depth knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and holding them to account on standards
  • Critical path management ensuring deadlines are achieved
  • Able to manage within a budget with commercial awareness and understanding of costs
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with credibility, share information effectively, and work confidently with cross functional teams
  • Knowledge of fashion –‘fashion sensibility’ – knowledge of trends, the market, the luxury consumer and peer awareness
  • Computer skills: PLM (Zedonk), Excel
