Create have teamed with an exciting Luxury Brand who create covetable day dresses, delicate cocktail frocks and sartorially-inspiring separates, Luxuriously executed yet accessible, the brand corners the market in occasion dressing with its modern approach to effortless feminine formalwear. They are currently recruiting an enthusiastic and passionate Garment Technologist to join the Technical team

As Garment Technologist you will work directly with the other Garment Tech and Senior Garment Tech across all stages of the fitting process along with the creative director and design team.

They work in a fast-paced environment, so willingness to learn, take part in all aspects of the fitting process, and a passion for your work are key. There is a lot of invaluable experience to be learnt as part of our small team, so this is a great opportunity for the right candidate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

·5 years experience within Technical department

·Experience of leading fittings and recording & sending fit comments

·Understanding of pattern cutting, good knowledge of fabrics, technical components and sewing techniques

·Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring critical path is honoured.

·Experience within a luxury womenswear brand with fashion week experience preferred

·Experience fitting kidswear preferred

·Experience fitting knitwear/jersey preferred

·Experience reading and approving fabric/mill reports

·An understanding of complex garment construction, print and embellishment

·Maintaining good relationships and communication with our supply base

·Tenacious, assertive and determined attitude with excellent attention to detail

·Good negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills

·Dedicated, hardworking and committed person willing to progress as the company grows

·Travel may be required

RESPONSIBILITIES

·Leading fit session from initial design stage through to pre-production fitting alongside design and creative director for assigned categories

·Ensuring clear fit comments and measurements are communicated to factories in a timely manner considering design aesthetic, factory capability and fabric end use

·To ensure supplier base submit measurement specs prior to fitting

·Ensure garments are measured prior to fitting

·Ensure minimum measurements are followed

·Ensure self portrait grading rules are followed and sizing is consistent across the collection

·Measure all samples to ensure measurements are to spec

·Maintain golden rules and minimum make standards to ensure self portrait quality standard is adhered to

·Ensure fit/design changes after SMS is communicated to relevant departments

·Signing off final pre production fit with creative director

·Awareness and management of key dates within the critical path for assigned categories across all fit stages

·Visiting the Self Portrait flagship store to review latest delivery and liaise with store manager for any fit/quality feedback

·Seasonal market research in fit, sizing and finishing

·Good knowledge of fabric and trim testing. Ability to read and approve mill and lab test reports against self portrait testing manual

·Take responsibility for approving care label artwork

·Plan and organise all fit meetings including booking models

·Manage any quality issues that may arise

·Assess any consumer and wholesale returns

·Participate in seasonal imagery meeting to communicate any aesthetic changes to graphics prior to ecom launch

·Attend all pre show fit meetings ensuring creative director show amends are carried out

·Assist in pre-show organisation including machinery booking and machinist schedule
