Create have teamed with a very well established and successful supplier of ladies soft separates to high street brands such as New look and Miss Selfridge. They are now looking to recruit an experienced wholesale Merchandiser to join their team. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years experience working for a fast paced fashion supplier and dealing with the similar retail brands

The Merchandiser will be responsible for managing the critical paths, liaising with the overseas factories, approving lap dips, strike offs, desk looms, chasing samples and ensuring that all orders are dispatched and delivered on time. Whilst assisting the production manager on day to day responsibilities.

Applicants for the Merchandiser position must have previous experience working within the clothing industry and all aspects of the life cycle from initial order to the sale. must be highly organized and have excellent communication skills.

The role:

  • Managing the Critical Path from end to end
  • To purchase all raw materials from fabrics to trims, liaising directly with suppliers and chasing orders for critical delivery dates
  • Assist with the shipping & logistics (import & export)
  • Ensure samples and final garments are delivered to the customer in a timely manner
  • Assist with customer calls, queries and building relationships with customers, factories, and suppliers
  • Plan production with in-house facility and maximise fabric usable (both with fabric at factories and fabric in in-house sample room)
  • Following garment sealing process to ensure we are meeting critical dates
  • Getting weekly production status updates from the factories and relaying this back to the team and customers
  • Send all confirmed orders to ERP back office to create on ERP
  • Order fabric and trims manually where necessary but then email all details to ERP back office to create on ERP with the approval from the Production Manager
  • Ensure invoices from suppliers are received in good time and send to accounts with all necessary docs to create on ERP
  • Keeping on top of all invoices and ensure these are processed in a timely manner
  • Help support other areas within the production teams where needed
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

We require a talented individual with:

  • 3-5 years’ relevant industry experience is essential
  • This staff member needs to be highly detail oriented and well organized. The role requires being capable of working unsupervised in a fast paced environment and therefore requires strong common sense abilities
  • Must have experience of working and communicating with manufacturers (Europe preferred);
  • Able to proactively manage own workload and communicate advice to suppliers;
  • Good planning and organisational skills, adaptable to change and be able to meet the needs of the business;
  • Able to work to important deadlines.
  • Confident in their merchandising skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The successful candidate chosen for this role must be quick and proactive!
  • Good communication skills – written and spoken: fluent in English;
  • Must be fully pc literate and have MS Office knowledge – Excel and Word is essential
