Create have teamed up with a Luxury women’s ready-to-wear fashion designer whose famous for creating striking brocade cocktail dresses and floor-sweeping lace gowns in vivacious prints and fine fabrics. They are in need of an experienced Gerber Grader to work in there East London studio 2 days a week.

A studio-based role with daily communication with internal departments; Pattern room, Production, Product Development (inc Technical), Sample Room and Design.  The Grader will grade patterns in order to deliver the collection and required sizing to market within the required deadlines. Reporting into Production manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with creative Pattern Cutters and Technical team to grade patterns whilst maintaining the aesthetic of the sample size garment
  • Participation in SMS and PP fittings
  • Involvement in seeking resolutions to fit issues alongside the Technical team when required after size14 PP fitting
  • Grading patterns to production ready status, ensuring all details are thoroughly checked prior to manufacturer handover
  • Costings using GERBER marker making module
  • Managing production sealing deadlines
  • Working closely with Production department to resolve any grading queries during the production process
  • Supporting creative Pattern Cutters during sample send outs within a development season with regards to repeat styles

Requirements:

  • Degree level or similar
  • 4+ years of experience as a Grader
  • 3+ years of experience of GERBER software is essential V10
  • Strong knowledge of sizing, alteration and fit
  • Experience as Pattern Cutter is advantage
  • MS office skills
  • Initiative and drive
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills
  • Organised, efficient and critical path
