Create have teamed with a luxury designer in East London seeking a talented Embroidery Development Specialist to join their dynamic design studio on a freelance basis.

This hands-on studio role supports the Design and Development teams in delivering exceptional embroidery design and development across seasonal collections and special projects.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all embroidery developments meet brand aesthetic standards, quality expectations, and commercial targets, while supporting margin and efficiency objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead embroidery development across four main seasonal collections, as well as capsules and special projects.

Create and manage the seasonal critical path, ensuring progress through all stages of the design and development process.

Support the Embroidery Designer with technical guidance, supplier selection, workload prioritisation, and commercial alignment.

Manage seasonal embroidery budgets, pre-costings, and final costings in collaboration with Product Development and Merchandising.

Liaise with external suppliers to ensure embroidery styles are executed according to brief, cost targets, and timelines.

Oversee all embroidery launches, including preparing base fabrics, instructions, artwork, and managing deadlines.

Review and comment on work-in-progress samples and approve panels for RTW handover.

Ensure smooth production handovers, resolving any design or technical challenges.

Manage external freelancers, shipments, supplier communications, and invoice approvals.

Maintain accurate records of seasonal documentation and support pre-shoot and pre-show preparations.

Travel to external suppliers when required.

Skills & Experience

Degree or equivalent experience in Textiles, Fashion, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in embroidery development within the luxury fashion sector.

Strong technical understanding of embroidery techniques, garment construction, and raw materials.

Experience managing embroidery costings, budgets, and supplier relationships.

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.

Highly organised, efficient, and deadline-driven with excellent attention to detail.

Confident communicator and strong team player with solid problem-solving and analytical skills.sign and production.
