Create have teamed up with  a well-established manufacture & supplier of ladies wear woven and  jersey to the UK high-street, who are looking for a Garment Technician.

You will be responsible for carrying out garment fits, taking note of & carrying out required alterations to patterns via Optitex pattern software, managing fit sample turnaround and ensuring all critical path dates are met. You will be liaising with sales & production teams within the UK and in regular communication with factories in Turkey & Morroco.

The Role:

  • Fitting of initial samples though model fit sessions/mannequin fits & progressing to sealing and pre-production samples as required.
  • Altering patterns (CAD pattern software) & some manual pattern cutting required.
  • Manage the fit process from order booking through to the delivery of bulk production.
  • Carry out quality evaluations to ensure that the bulk production meets required specifications.
  • Work alongside Designers, Sales Account Manages & Production/Fabric Team at the Head Office to improve production efficiency and quality and liaise with factories involved in the production process.
  • Work out size specifications, issuing tech packs and graded specs to the factory.
  • Managing and keeping to all critical path dates to ensure there are no delays in bulk production dates
  • Carry out checks for bulk production, compare with approved fits/specs and ensure that the fit is consistent across the range.
  • Ensure garments meet quality and standards needed.
  • Documenting all changes and fit adjustments, comments, and measurements systematically.
  • Ensure all teams are kept up-to-date with any changes during the fitting/sealing process
  • Conduct investigations if bulk is not as per approvals, liaise with suppliers and factories on required changes.
  • Manage junior team members & assist in training where needed.

Requirements:

  • 5 years’ minimum experience with the ability to work to short lead times (8-10 weeks & manage all critical path dates)
  • Must be proficient at pattern cutting and pattern amendments; experience with digital pattern software is advantageous; however training on CAD software is available.
  • Fitting, grading, pattern adjustments, garment construction and quality standards experience
  • Experience working with a diverse mix of womenswear –woven, jersey etc within a supplier based role
  • Knowledge of production methods with an understanding of textile properties
  • Ability to convey technical details clearly
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft and Excel & good knowledge of CAD pattern cutting software
  • Exceptional communication, organisation and prioritisation skills
